Welcome

Welcome from The Provincial Grand Master for Leicestershire & Rutland, Right Worshipful Brother David V. Hagger.

Provincial Grand Master

This internet site is now well established and has proved of interest during its life to both Masons and non-Masons alike and on behalf of all the Brethren of this Province I extend a warm welcome and hope that you will find much to interest you.

The various web pages listed on the left include all the other Degrees and Orders which meet in Leicestershire and Rutland and I hope this inclusion will stimulate yet further interest. The names and addresses of the contact in each Degree is listed and they will be most pleased to hear from you.

The Province has its own publication, the Leicester Square, which is published in Autumn and Spring and contains much information of recent events, and those which will occur in the immediate future. The Leicester Square is available from the news link on the left.

As Masons we are justifiably proud of our record of giving to charities, both Masonic and non-Masonic. The funds for this, which are between £15,000,000 and £20,000,000 per annum, are all raised within the Craft. We are working towards the Festival in 2012 on behalf of the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution. The RMBI has 17 homes throughout the country for Masons and their dependants and we have, in fact, our own home known as Devonshire Court at Oadby within this Province. This festival culminates in May 2012 and has so far raised the amount of £1,150,000 towards the target of £1.5 million. This reflects the fact that Charity is one of the cornerstones of Freemasonry. More about this Festival is to be found elsewhere on this site.

Additional information about our charities can be found on the charity website.
