History

The idea of forming the Reynard Lodge was first discussed at Stoneygate Rugby Club in September 1985. The first JW, SW, Treasurer and WM hatched the plan over a beer following a Club Rugby match. It was to be some 2 years and 3 months later in January 1988 that a letter was written to the Prov. Grand Secretary stating that 32 like-minded Freemasons wished to form a new Lodge with the common interest of Sport. It was agreed that the request that the new Lodge be formed was to be sent to UGL in London. The 32 Founders comprised 6 Provincial Grand Officers; 15 Past Masters; 12 Master Masons; 10 Members of the Humber Stone Lodge No.7744; and 11 Members of Stoneygate Rugby Club, all from 19 Lodges.
